5k Run/Walk for Snowball Express

Adults, teens and kids will enjoy a fun-filled and exciting Saturday morning at the first annual Watervue 5K Fun Run/Walk. Experience a 5K course that winds through our neighborhood with a terrific finish! Don’t let the 5K (3.1 miles) distance intimidate you. This will be an exciting event and your participation is for a great cause. The course begins and ends near the Watervue Resident Connection Center.

All proceeds from the Watervue 5K Fun Run/Walk will directly support the Snowball Express organization. You can also encourage friends and family who may not be able to attend the race, to donate to this exceptionally worthy cause! You may even want to ask your employer if your company has a matching gift program! On the day of race, bring your pledges (if possible convert cash donations to one check) to the registration area near the Start/Finish line. Please make checks payable to Snowball Express. Awards will be given to the top overall male and female, the top team and the top pet team. The first 75 participants will receive a cotton t-shirt designed specifically for this event.

Need some more motivation to run? Recruit your friends and family and try the team challenge. Each team will consist of three team members and the finishing times of all three participants will be totaled and compared against the other teams. In addition, you can run with your pet in the “Pet Team Challenge”.

About Snowball Express:
Snowball Express is an organization working to make a difference by honoring the children of fallen military heroes. Through our annual event held each December, Snowball Express provides a few days of fun for these children and surviving spouses. In addition, Snowball Express works with local organizations around the country to create events to make sure these children are remembered throughout the year.
