Cardboard Boat Regatta

A. THERE ARE THREE DIFFERENT PRIZE CATEGORIES

PERFORMANCE AWARD: First boat to complete one lap around the lake (in the water);

MOST COOL DESIGN/CONSTRUCTION: Basically, a creativity award;

“TITANIC AWARD”: Most dramatic sinking of your watercraft during competition;

B. Each boat must be able to hold two people (one rider must be 21 years or older);
C. Boat hull and support braces can only consist of corragated cardboard material;
D. No wax coated or solid core cardboard will be permitted;
E. Construction by tape and/or glue only. No staples, nails, pins or screws are allowed;
F. No alternate materials can be used for ballast (boat riders only);
G. Decorations above the waterline can contain any material (staples, wood, cloth, etc);
H. Boats must be hand-powered (oars, paddles, etc are allowed but no motors);
I. Each crew member must wear a personal floatation device.

The competition starts promptly at 2pm at the main lake (by the pool). Don’t be late, sailors!
